Got a Hog? Check the Recall List

If you ride one of several 2014 and 2015 models of Harley-Davison motorcycles, you may need to cruise on over to your local dealer for a clutch flush and rebuild of the master cylinder.

The company announced it was recalling almost 46,000 bikes due to a problem with the motorcycles’ clutches. Apparently, Harley received notification of 27 crashes and four minor injuries because some of these Hogs could remain in gear when their clutches don’t fully disengage.

The recall covers these 2014-2015 models:

  • Ultra Limited
  • Road Glide
  • Electra Glide
  • Police Electra Glide
  • Street Glide
  • Road King

Harley-Davidson Motor Co. revealed that riders could lose control of the bikes when if the clutch’s master cylinders don’t fully disengage due to gas bubbles. This is more likely, the company says, after the motorcycle has been parked for an extended time.

Riders are instructed to contact their local Harley dealer to schedule an appointment to get the problem fixed as soon as possible.

It should almost go without saying that bikers should never ignore safety problems that may cause serious accidents and injuries. If you do get into a crash, contact a skilled personal injury lawyer who is passionate about fighting for the rights of motorcycle riders.
