Join the “Ride of the Fallen” Oct. 10 in Sparta, NJ

Some people think about pumpkins and hayrides and craft shows when the weather starts to feel chilly. Motorcyclists can’t wait to enjoy the fresh, crisp autumn air on the open road. And, what better way to get in a ride than by joining fellow bikers on a Sparta VFW charity ride Oct. 10, 2015. The cost per motorcycle is $30 if you register in advance, $35 on the day of the ride. Family members are welcome at $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the Ride of the Fallen.

Bikers will enjoy a 40-mile ride throughout Sussex County, a scenic place to ride. After an early 8:30 a.m. registration at the Sparta VFW post and Sparta Police Department parking lots, the ride will kick off at 10 a.m and return by 11:30 a.m.

But the fun won’t end at 11:30! Come back to the VFW for a barbecue, jumping fun in kids play houses, and enjoy plenty of music from Flannel Jam. Additionally, Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub will be selling craft brews. The VFW will receive a percentage of proceeds from beer sales.

In announcing this event, the VFW said: “We are riding to help raise money for Sparta VFW’s massive repairs to continue its support of veterans. We are expecting over 100 riders from the local area and their families and friends to celebrate those who served and whom have made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Sponsorships and vendor tables are available.
