A motorcyclist sustained significant physical injuries after he crashed his bike and was then hit by a motorist on a roadway in Princeton, New Jersey.
The serious motorcycle accident occurred on around 2:20 p.m. on Mercer Road in Princeton, NJ. The biker, a 34-year-old Trenton NJ resident, was driving northbound on the road and approaching the Mercer Road bridge when he suddenly lost control of his 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle.
Unfortunately for the biker, the precise moment at which he lost control of the motorcycle couldn’t have been worse: he was turning into a sharp curve in the roadway. The motorcyclist attempted to maintain control of his bike, but he was unable to do so. The biker swerved into the other lane and crashed into a Volkswagen. The driver of the car, a 35-year-old man from Princeton NJ, was traveling southbound on Mercer Road when he slammed into the biker. As a result, the motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and landed in the opposite lane of traffic on the road.
Things then got really bad for the motorcyclist: when he attempted to get up from his motorcycle crash, he was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the other car, a 31-year-old Princeton man, was unable to avoid the biker in the roadway.
The motorcyclist suffered serious internal injuries as a result of crashing his motorcycle accident and subsequently being hit by the car. One of the motorists involved in the accident dialed 911, prompting Princeton law enforcement to dispatch police officers and emergency medical responders. The injured motorcyclist was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton NJ, where doctors treated him for his injuries.
The motorists involved in the accident were not hurt.
