Supersport bikes: Supersport bikes can also be more dangerous. Not only are riders more likely to be in an accident, but they are also more likely to be in a bad accident. While these bikes can go on roads, most people still ride them like they are off-road or on the track. Speeding is the single most common cause of supersport accidents.

While owning these types of motorcycles is not necessarily a guarantee that you will be in an accident, it may mean that you need to take more precautions.

New Jersey Motorcycle Laws

It can be helpful to know New Jersey’s laws as they relate to motorcycle riding. Just a few laws that you can expect include:

Riders must have a motorcycle driver’s license if using a motorcycle or trike
Riders must complete a basic rider course with an approved provider
Riders must get a motorcycle endorsement, which means they are at least 17 years old and pass all required tests
All motorcycles must be registered with the state

In some cases, riders may be able to apply for a motorcycle license without already having a driver’s license or by forgoing the rider course. However, they will still need to take the road test.
